In the Summer of 2013, I helped run LocalDesign, a student-run start up that looks to capitalize on form giving skills learned in second year by crafting unique kitchen tools from locally sourced lumber and selling the work at the Blacksburg Farmer's Market.

Each piece I made was created by sketching free-hand directly on the wood before rough cutting and working the material into its final form by hand.
A few sets of salad servers and a dough scraper after being shaped and sanded, but before the natural beeswax finish is applied.
